15 Years Of Youth Entrepreneurship In Asia Pacific
The next generation of business movers are honing their entrepreneurship skills for future success in international trade.
For the last decade and a half, we’ve been connecting the entrepreneurs of tomorrow with opportunities to learn about international trade. In collaboration with Junior Achievement, our annual FedEx / JA International Trade Challenge competition has successfully helped high-school students across Asia Pacific learn the skills they need to run their own business.
Many program alumni have gone on to run successful franchises, import/export businesses, e-commerce platforms and more. A springboard for future start-ups and small and medium businesses (SMEs), the competition teaches aspiring entrepreneurs about the business challenges and opportunities unique to the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region and provides hands-on experience and mentorship in bringing a product to market.
It’s astounding to think that in just 15 years, almost 33,000 students have participated in the program, all taking away a unique perspective on what entrepreneurship and global trade mean – and the positive impact it can have on local economies and communities. Here’s a look at some of the program achievements:
